in direct contrast to fridays weather sunday was clear and warm.:)sailed at 8am down to the marks, fish from the start, water crystal clear baits were prawn squid rag frozen mackarel lures were daylites hokki the noos, rippers last but not least:D shhhhads:D two lads from carlisle kicked ass using them:D,one of them steven toller took heaviest fish at 6lb 8oz on a shad:Dthe day ended with everyone havin a dozen fish or so:exclam:

monday, the wind forecast for early afternoon(and it came, well done met.office)meant a 6am start:)once again oot the the piers and oft to the right. fishing was slower than of previous trips:( water seemed even clearer, baits were as sunday, but despite clear water rippers did nowt:( heaviest fish was a 6lb cod taken by warlord skipper jeff(spawney)davison:( as weather conditions got worse we fished our way home.average catch around 5 or 6 fish per punter, quite a drop from previous trips, worth a mention is our new found lady angling expert Mrs Atkinson:exclam:who had seven fish to keep.

Nice report mate, just goes to show there's never two days the same ..... even when conditions look better the fishing can turn off (and then on just as quickly)
Still, you did the lads(and lasses) proud with several fish each

cheers LK

As if I would !! Had a really great day with some really good lads hope the fishing is the same as saturday next time couldn't have asked for better weather :)

We saw you fishing Creswell, Sunday. You seemed to move offshore (wreck?) for a while. Quite a few boats around and a kayak, all seemed to be doing well. We,three of us on the Bold Endeavour, started off at 6 fishing our way down from Bondicarr picking up fish steadily until slack water and the flood semmed to knock them off a bit. Ended up with eighty between us, way better than can be expected at this time of year and I forgot my camera so couldn't take your picture! this time. Good luck at keeping the punters happy!

aye col if we hadnt gone early we would have struggled i thinkgot quite nasty early afternoon as well:( i noticed you had the pollock gear out when you went past us:)

I think a trip up north is on the cards soon, although the wrecks around the tyne are fishing well (and decent size fish) I do so like the hard fighting smaller spring run fish for the table ...... might just see yous up there next trip out (armed with out trolling gear col)...... :) :)

By the way col, gummies are not a lure we fish very often however after your mention and instruction last year Tony tried a few on the wrecks and they paid well ....... cheers

Tried trolling Norman but only had one about 2 or 3 pound which we put back, still too early yet, mind we went through what looked like shoals of feed on the finder only to haul in lines full of coalies. Never tried gummies on the wrecks but will now - you learn something new every day!

Aye col this was one to Tony, a decent fish, and I know he had 1 or maybe 2 more .... kinda halfway to a shad :) :) (I'm sure Tone will elaborate) :)

gummies

gummies

aye lads the current "gummies" bear a lot of resemblance to the bull gummies of many years ago, then they were the greatest thing since sliced bread:)
