Angling Trust flattie only comp

Jimmy French is running a competition on behalf of the Angling Trust on SUNDAY 19th JUNE.

This is a Penn Points competition

It is a flattie only competition (minimum size 25cm, 35cm for Turbot), fishing on Warkworth beach from 11.00 to 15.00.

Boundaries are from the North pier at Amble to the south side of the river Aln, excluding the pier and river.

Entry is £10 for seniors, with prizes of £100 for the heaviest bag and £100 for the heaviest fish.

Juniors fish free for a selection of prizes, but MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Tickets are on sale in local tackle shops, and on the morning of the comp at Amble Angling Centre.

Weigh-in at the Amble SAC hut at Radcliffe Club, Amble, from 15.00 to 16.00.

perhaps it should be ALL fish must be brought to the weight in alive or at least a effort made to keep it alive. no reason wy not.

I think that's the point of keeping them in fresh seawater !!

the point i was trying to make tony was why not make it compulsory to use a bucket to bring the flounders back to the weigh in. ive no problem of any one taking flounders for the table but the sight of some one turning up with a carrier bag of dead flounders and then dumping them not only shows angling in a bad light and fuels the anti angling brigade.
bring them back alive if you want them to eat then kill them once weight. they will be a lot fresher when you get them home because they have not sat sweating in a plastic bag.
