chatting to a mate today. Monday, he was fishing off the JFK on Sunday.. no offence to him he only goes out once or twice a year off " A " boat, he wants to get into it more and is very enthusiactic, so asking him how the day went, not to bad caught nowt, he was using the boats gear and bait,the bait being squid, a few of the lads he was fishing with had there own gear & bait, they caught a lot more than my mate. then he noticed they where ""painting the bait with something that came out of a small bottle approx the size of your thumb "" any ideas what it was, all he could come up with was it stank, but it worked, sorry no other clues cheers

you can get bottles of bait additives which are usually a choice of peeler crab,lugworm,ragworm etc.Have even seen wd40 used as its basically just fish oil.

hi there, i rember years ago when coarse fishing we used a attractant that sounds similar to that you described, it was in a small bottle with a brush and it stank it was made from worm extract but i cant think of its name:red: i,m sure you can get sea fishing additives similar

I have some, about 18 packs..got it a few years ago and never used it...bloody stinks of fishy tom cat wee would best give it a description.

you aint seen anything until you've seen Jasons "Fish Distractor", I`m sure Keith can tell more but I remember it was a good day out on "The Boys" when it was first put to use on the tyne (and when it was first officially named the "Fish Distractor" as well

That's the one Norman, my first trip out with Bert & Co and the first time I'd ever seen a ling never mind caught one. I was fishing next to Jason and the magic stuff worked a treat
