anybody fished north gare?

thinking of giving it a try, does anybody know if mackeral can be caught july time?and whens the best time to fish it? thanx in advance

hi,keith.yes mackerel can be caught from the gare.The water must be settled for it to fish the best.Best area seems to be at the end fishing towards the Heugh.spinners have the edge for the bigger bags but once established the float takes over.dont rule out the right hand corner off the end as you sometimes pick up the occasional bass.
