Couple of boats out of hartlepool yesterday - quite a few cod off the rought ground but nothing bigger than 4lb (so i heard). Weather now on the change freshening from the west and forecast to swing round to the north.

The Volante was out without me on Tuesday. Dave and Tony fished the Hard Ground between Roker and Seaham with 19 Codling to 4lbs.
Tony actually got a cod of around 18-20lbs to the surface but as Dave the skipper went to gaff it, it flipped the hook and went straight back down. The only bait he had on was Rag.
Not sure if the two of them are still mates....wish I\'d been there to wind Tony up....the pair of them need some payback as everytime my backs turned on that boat they desposit live crabs in my pockets so I keep getting nipped !!!
