anyone been down sheilds pier today? + weather

has anyone been down there today? was any mackeral getting caught? i no im persistant in my asking lol but i enjoyed catching them , im looking to take the girlfriend down so she could try it for the 1st time...

and also could anyone give me some advice on when the best time to go thiss week would be?

There has been the odd shoal from low water up but not in any great numbers...its a case of 4 at a time for a few casts then nothing.

So yes the rubbish dump is fishing but i am told Blyth is fishing much better today. Water at the dump is very dark frm the north east winds and dredger so no the best pier in the area to fish.

Caught 3.

Its always worth a bash with amckerel,lets face it all you have to do is cast in the water with something bright and a hook, if the fish sees it..you catch one

Maybe not the best time to take the bird for her 1st trip, the after dark music and blood soaked bags blowing around on the pier may put her off abit.
