Hi mate poundland and pound stretcher both had cheapy led head lamps for a couple of quid. You don't really want to be fishing with no light unless you are somewhere under a street lamp or something.

yes on a serious note, you dont want to be fishing in the dark with no light, you not even got a torch? better than nothing

i got stuff i could use but cant be chowed. i was just wondering if anywhere was well enough lit to save hawking around. i got an old parrafin lamp banging away on the wall outside. might see what fettle its in. i got a head lamp somewhere aswel but probably in the attic and im outa fettle wi me back. id sooner cripple mesel casting than risk being stuck up a ladder and not get out. ive got a cupla led stick on lights kicking about. i suppose i could glue em to me fishing box.

Not going to Blackpool lol last time as a kid i found a tenner compressed in the tram tracks then me old man clipped me round the back of the head and took it off me fir waving it about and not keeping me gob shut. lesson learned!

i got a bit light sorted so im not as limited. normaly fish blyth pier in daylight but fancy a change.
ive been fancying amble a while. i think tonight might be a bit of a magical mystery tour.
bugger it ive got no ties today im off out now. might start mooching around the tyne and play it by ear.
if anyones out, ill be the one cursing me leds that wont stay stuck to me box

Here's a change for yer mate, blyth quayside

went to Amble, wasnt a single soul when i got there. having not been i didnt know where the hell i was going but eventualy found the pier.
had a fish on within 20 min, got 2 codling a rockling plenty crabs but not as many as blyth and a few whiting all small tho so all went back bar one which iwas gona throw back but the hook was deep so its about to hit the pan.
lug seemed to be the favourite.
there were a few people turned up at high tide and i think i was the only one who caught anything. funny thing is ive only been fishing about 6 times. didnt even know what i was catching lol, i recognised the cod but i had to ask someone about the rockling and the whiting i wasnt sure but looking at the flesh on this un its not coley which i thaught they were at first.
cheers for the input. ill no doubt try all of em at some point.

There's a couple of places in South Shields you could fish mate. One is the Walkway which has lights all along so you could set up underneath one of them. The other is Brighams which has a light on the wall at Codgers Corner and also they have recently repaired the light that is on the ground at the Spirit Of South Shields which is very bright but if you don't mind being cooked by a searchlight you might like it :) You could also try Jarrow Park as there are streetlights along there too.
