are we mad us anglers lol

I remember about 3-4 years back, new years eve conditions were bang on for a 1am high tide off the cliffs at Shields /whitburn. Told the missus I was going fishing so wasnt having a drink, me liking a beer or 6 she thought I was mad, she went off to bed and I got the gear ready the weather as forecasted took a turn and whilst loading the car the the snow got heavier and heavier worst that I had seen, I was planning on getting to the gunpits approx 5-6miles as the crow flies. I got as far as the Nook roundabout(2 mile) before I gave up and crawled home not able to see 5 yards ahead of me. Never have I saw snow fall that fast and that heavy. I would do the same again if I thought I get that fish of a lifetime. I will just have to invest in some snow shoes!

I know the feeling Jamie. I don't know what it is, but I love fishing in the snow, a lot more than rain. When I used to fish Roker regularly in a northerly, you could watch the snow showers make whitburn disappear, then Seaburn and then you'd get it. Then watch it move down the coast. Fantastic.
