its nearly june1st,and time for my pilgrimage over the border and into the highlands for the annual pike fishing frenzy.the frenzy caused by the midgies i might add,hopefully there will be some wind to keep the blighters away

Never tried Pike fishing but always fancied giving it a shot.

tons of garlic over the 2 days before you go...and atleast 1/2 bottle of the good stuff..while your there

the first will stink through your skin and keep em away and the second ....well ,you wont remember anyway...

Try the local shops were you are fishing,remember fishing Loch Awe years ago which is horendous for midges and whilst buying my permit at the local Post office bought a repelant which the locals used and had no problems.
