Audio track manipulation

I'm asking on here while also trawling google because I know there's lot of clever peeps on NESA

...is it possible to remove the spoken word/sung content from a CD or MP3 track?

If so anyone know of any free software that would do such a thing - or even steer me with some key words..?

Try Audacity Tony. Its free and depending on how the recording was mastered can work quite well. My eldest is a wannabe rock star playing drums and lead guitar and he uses it a lot.

Tony the below link is to a site where load of music has been isolated into guitar / vocal / bass / drums etc... They all link to youtube so should be recordable with the right software . Well worth a look, might save you some bother
