I've seen them on the sites mate. There Def to do with electrics or gas cables. Walked past the lads in my street the other day digging the ground to get to the cables and them buckets were there. They're white with a black lid, longer and not as tall. I've got 2 but no more.

Go to a building site mate, or even better if you know anyone who works on one, the big paint buckes the get the pain in are ideal and they just toss them in the skip when there done!
Codmaster i got mine from id fishing last year when i bought live crab. John had a few in the back room, dont know if he sells them but you could ask him where they come from.. They are the exact ones your talking about. I use 1 and 2 pint maggot boxes and they fit side by side in the bucket you want. They are a first class bait bucket
By defective
hi Defective id fishing in shields has closed down i used to know kev who used to work in the shields shop but yeah that one is similler to the ones im on about been told off an other member that they are from building sites and people who dig roads up looking for cables
As some of you may know I paint tennis courts for a living.
Its a waterbased paint in 20 Litre drums with very secure and watertight lids. They wash out very well when first used.
If anybody wants any drums send me a pm and I will work out how to get them to you. I have so many of them that I have to get a notifiable waste skip in twice a year to dispose of them.
I wont have any clean ones for a month or so (when the weather warms up and I start painting for the summer)
