is there a bait clip that allows you to lay the lead on the ground without the hook unclipping.sure i seen it somewhere,want to brighton cast with hhok clipped down.also if you try this cast with a grippa lead does the wires catch the ground and break away

i lay my lead on the ground and do have a little bother with hooks coming off as i use impact shields, so try and lay lead down softly and take a few steps back to make sure the line is taut and cast slow and smooth as pos , not a 100% foolproof but does work most of the time also i sometimes use bait clips, relay clips, gemini clips and it works for those aswell

gemini splashdown are the ones i was thinking of,bit pricey but ill see if any local shops sell them

I always groundcast when fishing and have used quite a few different types of bait clip. You'll have problems with them all unless, as Waco says, you lay your line out carefully. Always try to keep the line taught.
As for grippers, not a problem on sand. For hard surfaces I bend the last 10mm or so of the grip wire back in towards the lead not quite making a 90deg bend. Find that this helps the wires to more or less skid across the surface rather than the point of the wire catching onto something and springing open.

yes they is and ave saw them my self in reelsport, in chicester south shields, canny lil mechnism actually

Rutherfords sell the whole gemini kit for 25 quid, that is adjustable mould and all stuff to make five sinkers. you then buy kits at 9 quid which make up 10 sinkers. I have just bought the kit, they are expensive but they are a good bit of kit. hope this helps

cheers mate,agree with that i forgot to mention when using grip leads turn ends of grip wires slightly to stop digging into ground when casting

if on a rocky beach like lynmouth, try a length of drain pipe cut in half, lay your lead and trace in there and slides along nice.
