What do people recon to baits such as muscle, cockles, limpets, and other shell fish? I've used them for tipping off ( and caught ) but never a big golfball size.
Mussels, clams and razor fish are all good baits and can be used as a cocktail or on thier owen fresh or frozen and unlike crab it can be re-frozen, always worth keeping some in your freezer.
Try a couple of mussel tied in with a crab bait can be deadly this time of year also clam or razor when there's a big sea running
Clams always seem to work as a tipping bait for me, I was thinking of making clam 'sausages' tightly packed into sausage skin, frozen then held with elastic when fishing. Sausage skin works in the sea a bit like pva does for carp anglers.
I like to stuff a squid skin with mussel and tie it os as a big bait in Winter.
Had a couple of good session with it,2 hooks with one big hook and bait and a smaller scratcher hook and bait.
