Hi there, new to the forum and pretty new to north east sea fishing having moved to northumberland a few months ago.

Well me and my lad decided to have a go today and what a nice sunny day it was.

Got to beadnell about 8am which was a tad early as we couldnt get to the end of the skeer. We went as far as we could and set up legering with squid. We had no joy at all with this and after a while swiched to ragworm.
Just want to say im really glad i went for rottom bottoms on the rigs as there are alot of snags. The pulley rig worked quite well too.
Half an hour later and got a decent bite which i was really late striking and there was nothing there when i did, it went quiet again after that so we moved 20 yards further down the skeer as the tide has gone out a lot more.

Got to about 1pm and we had to get home soon due to other things to do, so i said we would have one last cast. Brought it in and put a fresh worm on and cast it out. 30 seconds later got a cracking bite and struck on time handed the rod to my lad to get it in and land. Got a really nice 3-4lb (guestimated) ballan wrasse, really made our day! Here is the fish.
