went to the ratty about 10:30 got set up cast out, started sorting my gear out then thought I would reel in and not a sniff so loaded up on mussel and tipped it off with chicken liver cast out and with in 30 secs pulled out not only my first but the best catch I have ever had a 4 pound cod. must have hit him on head on way down lol
rest of day went to small whiteys for till tea time pulled in 2 more cod a 2 pound cod and 1 just under a pound.

baits caught on were mussel tipped with liver my rag, lug was just whitey bait.

i have never seen so many rods and people fishing the ratty must have been at least 35- 40 people fishing that one section, they even climbed onto the pier round railings. the side of pier the beach in bay was all littered with fisherman.

Well done on the fish mate. Times I have been down it is murder fishing off the small path. The places to fish get less and less now they have fenced the ratty off.
