Best fishing session ever on Roker pier

Went to Roker pier today from 11.30 till 5.30 ragworm and makki for bait
My daughter Demi 15, son Cameron 5 and myself the amateur lol
Demi,s first cast and she had a small collie she was over the moon

Then I set Cameron up and his first cast about 10 yards out and his rod is going berserk so as I'm getting Demi's coalie off the hook young Cameron has struck and struggling to reel in he got it to the side and I was expecting to see a decent coalie but instead a ballan or corkwing wrasse I had to reel it up the wall


It was an absolute beauty and a new species for him
Then Demi is in again not to be out done and only got her first ever wrasse

I'm still not set up after an hour baiting up and taking there fish off the hooks lol

Then it was a fish a chuck with for them anyway I had a few coalies and a scorpion fish but between them pollack. Coalies. Blennys wrasse and over 50 fish between them
And to be honest could of kept a few coalies and nice sized pollacks
I couldn't be more proud of my 2 children putting me to shame once again but I must be teaching them well
Our Demi is now hooked on fishing and is now taking the fish off herself

Really pleased for you mate, the ideal way to spend the day, plenty of fish and the kids over the moon. Loads of variety there, I bet those wrasse and the bigger coalies and pollack gave a canny fight on the light gear.

Great stuff mate, always enjoy your threads-I don't think anyone enjoys their fishing as much as you, looks like another couple of recruits to our ranks there too. In 25 years fishing never had a wrasse from Roker! Nice one.

No not putting bait on but both casting out, striking and reeling them in Demi is unhooking her self and the little fella in picking up worms himself but not joking them on
