It was forecast light westerlies yesterday with a ~1ft swell then I look this morning & its NNE with gusts of 20+mph! Harrumph!! :( Hope it does change before the weekend again. Its murder for me at the moment, Im working down Leeds all week so the weekend is the only chance for me to get out, but of course the weekend is always when the worst of the weather will fall! Typical!

Anyways, fingers crossed it reverts to nice light westerlies again because I was looking forward to a nice 3:30am start on Sat morning! Nowt better! ;)

All the best.

Been like that for 3 years, it changes almost every 6hr update on all sites.

I am lucky in a way as i have laods of leave this year, so if the weather is looking very good i often get it granted at short notice...then it is just a case of sorting a fishing buddy and i am away out there.

Watch, it will be 1mph west wind and 30c with no swell this weekend with no more than a 0.6 drift all day :) :)

Petrol tanks filled and fishing has been brought forward to tomorrow rather than Friday for us Ray! Not too early either as the day is looking to get better as it goes on, might be up for a 55 mile route!;)
We will see what the weekend and changeable weather brings for the next trip off after that!

Graham.

55 mile trip! Crikey! We're lucky to clock up 2 mile a trip I reckon! haha! Only ever been as far as a bit past the yellow can @ Whitley Bay, but intend to get out further this year, weather permitting. We're only in an 18ft open top boat with a 15hp outboard, so wouldn't like to risk too much I suppose. :red:

Well, think Im gonna try and get out Friday evening instead. Swells predicted @ 1ft on Magic Seaweed with light-ish SE winds. I'll get home from Leeds sometime before 4pm so a quick dash to Seaton Sluice for high tide @ 17:16pm should at least get us a good couple of hours out. Better than a poke in the eye with a rusty hook (although I suppose alot of things are!), especially if we can't get out Sat morning. :D

Feeling slightly more optimistic now! haha! :red:

I'll be out tomorrow , haven't decided what time yet , on monday I woke up at 3am and got up and went , I was up this morning at 2.30am taking pain killers , so no doubt I'll be out early tomorrow as well , or maybe not :D

I am out Thursday "dolphin spotting" with my mam as she reports say a pod of 50+ off Souter today...sure we will give up on that after an hour and fish a few ...happen to eb close by wrecks :)

yeah il be out tomorrow as well, everything sorted and hopefully the forecast will be correct as it looks a very nice day in prospect.

Today being Wed read Friday Weather for Saturday ............:p

seriously , do the above ......
in general the forcast slows by a day from midweek to weekend so usually the Friday forcast lingers into saturday .... well, it does if you go out at 3.30am :) :) :D .... wait and see ... saturday will still have good weather and the NNE will start saturday pm (I hope)

The forecast for tomorrow looks cracking, it could be worth taking a last minute half day holiday. I’ve dug some worms as it was getting dark tonight and have enough left-over bait in the fridge- just in case.
With a little luck we'll get more than the two mackeral we managed last weekend, it outfished the worm baits and would be good to get some for the freezer.

Well, sure enough the forecast aint looking too bad now for early Sat morning. Light-ish winds all Friday, then 0.5ft swells predicted for Sat morning @ 6am with light winds, building up to 3ft by 12am with 20mph NNE gusts. Im figuring that if I get out for 2 hours before high tide Sat morning @ 3:30am, then Id have a good 4 hours out & back in the harbour for 2 hours after high tide at 7:30am, by which point the sea won't have had time to build up much (fingers crossed!).

Sounds like a plan, but then if it turns out to be a no-go on Sat then Ill be gutted about not going out Fri evening... ohhh decisions decisions.... :red:

Anyone else planning on doing the same thing?
