iv,e fished steetly loads of times and cought a lot of cod off there, but there is one big problem the lift, its 30foot or so and if you have a decent fish on say 5 to 7lbs it can be toutch and go ,you just hope your main line and rig knots hold out.the other two ways are [1] drop net wich is fine on a still day in july[ but you only get macky in the middle of july ]at 2am in the middle of january with a force 8 blowing from the north it,s a different matter. belive me iv.e tried it, even with a buiding brick in it it,s difficult to marry fish and net up.way 2 get some strong garden twine or washing line, tie the end to a metal spring[the ones you use on a key ring only bigger ]then tie on 4to5 foot or twine with a 10 ons perk and a 10 o tripple hook on the other side, when you hook a biggun simply hook the clip on your main line and let the perk run down it, nine times out of ten the tripple hook will go straight to the cods gob. I know my and my mate lifted a ten pounder without any problems in a hooley off the steetly.
