be obliged if any you guys can offer advice here, where to fish the morns high water hendon prom or horden beach, i know about the hendon wall issues and the police so not thinking about there

cheers in advance

The prom might not be fishable mate cos the sea was huge today, im putting a couple of photos on the gallery just to show what it was like.

i`m up in hordan and can hear the water , mate of mine went down the beach while still light before he took off home to scotland, said then the waves were a touch hairy lol, will take your advice on hendon then i think -n cheers for the advice :)

Fished Hill 60 at Ryhope up on the cliffs and it was perfect, the falls and target produced fish aswell so i would head there rather than the beaches. Lad next to me lost a one around 4lbish, wave just took it under the cliff and straightened out his hook, was gutted for him.

problem is i dont know the area that well, not long been over this side the country, so parking and paths are not something i know plus safety wise on cliffs as it would be dark first time there, allthough i use the abu servan xp and a warbird my reels are loaded with 15lb line which i doubt is upto hauling something up a cliff so really i am stuck with the few places i do know, hence hendon prom, horden beach , blackhall rocks or seaton carew, the other thing i have to watch is i cant walk as far as i used to so cliff climbing is totally out for me

Hill 60 is an easy mark to get to, no more than a 1/4 mile walk. If you park (or get off the bus) at what used to be the Toll Bar at Ryhope, (bus stop is right next to the new flats/apartments) or park behind the bus stop, you walk towards Salterfen Industrial Estate,(its between the road and the cliffs) i say estate its more like a run down one! Walk back under the new road and railway line and when you come out the other end just follow the cliff path to the right. Youll see where the 4x4s have been going along, after 100 yards or so youll see a headland sticking out, its the obvious one, theres 2 rocks just to the left of it(just put another photo on the gallery which should help). When you get to the point youll be able to see The Pipe to the north just before The Target and a pipe to the south The Ramp. Cast as close to the rocks as you dare cos theres a nice gulley runs around it, Use rotten bottoms but if i were you id step up your main line to 30lb.

sounds like i need to re line a couple of reels then, will i think take a look in daylight so i dont end up getting lost and fishing in a cave in the night :), whats car safety like parking there

Never had a problem parking behind the bus stop but i woudnt go into the industrial estate. If in doubt just park further up the bank in the newer houses cos it looks ok, nee caves to worry about on top ov the cliffs mate but watch the drop! Good luck!
