Bit of sport at the Hall 23/12

Fished 2 up one down at the Hall Beach, expected a bit of sea on but it was near enough totally flat. Nevertheless stuck at it with frozen blacks, mussel and cart and got a bit of sport. First cast a tentative bite resulted in a decent flounder. Then a few size whiting up to 38cm and even a Dab got in on the act. No Codling but it was nice to get a few bites. The whiting were really tearing into the Cart. All returned except for one deep hooked whiting pictured which would never have made it.

A few different species unlucky on the cod front were u protected from the wind mate

Yes mate, that was the problem I think. Wind was straight off the land. I expected it a bit more southerly. Bite a cast fishing though so nice to be out for a couple of hours.

Canny bit sport all the same even if the Codling stayed away. I was on Hendon about the same time and blanked.
