Spent six hours on catch and release at Tweeddale yesterday and boy was it cold.
Arrived at 08.00 and the grass was crispy with the overnight frost.( pleased I took a spare fleece ).
3rd cast a lovely bow of approx 5lb, caught this one on one of Callaghan48 damsel nymphs, looking good one thinks. WRONG not another touch until the last cast of the day, another fish approx 5lbs.
Tried about every type of fly in the box but most of the fish were being caught on olive damsels with black eyes, I had them with green eyes, white eyes, red eyes but none with black.
Unfortunately the two guys catching the fish wouldn't part with a single fly so it is back to the vice to tie my own, unless Callaghan48 can be sweethearted to tie me a couple
