blocks,shields pier

had a few hours down shields pier tonight 20/8/12,met my mate there bout 5pm 1hr before hi water,had a few casts at the boggs,me mate had couple mackerel on spinner,we then headed up to the blocks for a bit float fishing,using rag worm,float was in the water a matter of minutes and i pulled out a small pollock,my mate caught a small coalie then a small wrasse,then i pulled out a lovely wrasse,559310_4520722497810_1575020656_n.jpg,lovely summer nights fishing and a new pb for me,must of been in region of 1.5lbs,nice chunky fish,all fish were returned except for 1unlucky mackerel which was used as a cocktail for bait.

cheers lads,its the 1st year ive seen them caught on pier,seen a lad get a decent 1 cuple weeks ago,not as big as mine,lol,then the 2 yesterday,the lad kept his,dont see the need,but there defo there,seen a big 1 in a rockpool at back of camels island last summer,my mate does the pots offshore and he said there here in their droves every year,at your feet off the rocks

Well done mate, nice Ballan Wrasse, as you've proven a lot of fish can be caught at your feet!

Might have a pop down there one night this week in search of one for the Lure Challenge!!
