Well decided to fish low water up at blyth spur of the moment trip as i could see the sea was starting to lift a bit anyways got up there for about 12.30am there was some lovely breakers coming in from about 60 yards out look perfect for fish.
Anyways the main reason i wanted to try blyth is to give the dvice a shot using at ledger rig with a long flowing trace out it went i was filling the dvice with little bits of mackrel and bluey before inserting the bait in it seem to cast fine with the amount of bait i was putting anyways it wasnt long before i was getting bites i missed an absolute stonking one while sorting another trace out so in it came and out it went again this time i filled it up with some old rag i had before inserting a size 1 hook with a big juicy yellowtail had another good bite but missed it.
Next cast i used a pully rig size one hook and few mins later fish on.
THIS NICE SIZED FLOUNDER
Right had another trace ready a paternoster style rig with long flowing trace size 3/0 hook filled the dvice with stinking mackrel and mussel then inserted the 3/0 hook with 2 big blacks and a yellowtail this was an enormous bait and it still went out without any probs within seconds my rod nearly come out of the stand fish on.
A NICE CODLING WEIGHING ABOUT 3LBS WHICH I RETURNED BACK AS IT WAS ONLY LIP HOOKED
Next cast i just put a pulley rig on size 3/0 but things went quiet til the turn of the tide, then i got another stonking bite which nearly pulled my rod over again this fish was giving one hell of a fight i knew what it was the way it was fighting a silver and guess what i lost it in the surf as it must of been just hooked got a good luck of it and it was easy a good 3lb or more never mind straight back out with another big bait 3 nice sized yellows within seconds another good bite fish on again a codling about 3.5lbs which i kept as it had swallowed the hook, next cast which i decided would be my last another big bait yellows and stinking mussel which had been freezed about 3 or 4 times about 10 mins later another fish a codling about 2.5lbs that was it decided to call it a night as it was 5am and i was a bit shatterd a very enjoyable night and i will be back out later today somewhere
HERE IS THE 2 I KEPT FOR THE TABLE AS THEY WERE DEEP HOOKED
