Started 4pm, fished 3 hrs down at N end, blanked. Guess sea was too rough but wanted to use up bait. Whilst in car park at 4pm met angler coming off pier had 3 fish. 4lb and 2 x 2lb
he fished on pier 2hrs up, 1 hr down. So fish are there.

Bad luck Gerry, that's how it is I suppose, as you say though probably a bit too rough. We were hoping to give it a try there tomorrow night but we thought it would still be a bit too big so it's cancelled. Will have to wait for a high water tide before we can get out now though so it won't be the pipe. You could have fished the pier after seeing the other lads fish but still not guarranteed to catch so well done for sticking to your guns.

I hate making plans and then changing them because if you blank you will always think what if lol. There were a lot of times I would plan to fish the beach and as I was getting ready everyone else would set off to the pier, I would always think about it but only changed my mind a couple of times as I much prefer the beach.

maybe these days mate it is much safer than anywhere really as theres a lot of accident happened lately what i have read over the last week or so

hey mate, you need a blank every now and again to keep you keen. After all, it's all a big learning curve. well done for getting out there. I fished cambois beach (big sea)a couple of days ago 5 casts and 5 ton of weed later I gave up, fished the estuary for a couple of hours BLANKED but enjoyed the day.

Old??? howay coddy man :D :D :D :D

To be honest, there isn't many rock marks at all I can manage and those I can are a walk too far for me, so it has to be easier marks for access and comfort of fishing. Sometimes the beach can be a bit too far at low water but now and again is not too bad.

don't mind blanking provided I have had a good time and up to now quite enjoy being out on the beach. Up to now I (for me) have done quite well and it is good to have something to do in the winter months than just watch tele and play badminton. What hasn't helped is I have had a serious case of man flu. Standing on a beach feeling like s--t doesn't help concentration.
Good thing with this site is the amount of fish being caught, so knowing they are out there is a big help. So cheers to all you guys who submit threads it keeps us lesser anglers going
