Better than i did, was on the pier for a few hours with 1 tiny bite that resulted in nowt, called it a night at about half 8 the place was dead, just waitin till next week now. merry xmas every1.

I'm another one that likes that mark, I've had some very good nights there when there has been some sea on. It's always nice to come away after catching a couple of fish no matter what sort they are.

From there to the concrete jetty can fish really well this time of year, sometimes you have to move about a bit in order to find the fish but it can be a cracking mark. When the sea is big and northerly you can sometimes still fish to the left of the pipe, I've had a few good nights along there too. If you go onto Blyth pier when it is big you will see quite a few regulars fishing into the surf. Some very good fish come from there each year.

Blyth beach hasnt really fished well at all this year. Well done on the flatties, usually a good flatty mark. I was on the pier a wk last fri, had two cod for 5lb 5oz, biggest 4lb 1oz but it certainly wasnt the most productive nite even tho the conditions were perfect, seems like thats how it has been this year.

:red:Well at least you had some sport critch!, av fished that mark a few times lately, only had flatty's, coalies, 2 bass(small), did you fish h/t or l/t, cos theres a canny hole at l/t in front of the pipe, am ganna try it sometime this week, probs mon/tues or both:red:

willywetegg, a month or so ago when i was on the pier, a bloke next to me had a nice cod at around 9lb when there was an easterly just fishing past the last breakers from the pier, and all i had was smalluns, be trying the beach tomorow,, does anyone know if cambois beach is fishing well?

Hi Karl, a lot of the lads that fish there are regulars mate, as soon as the sea is big you will see them there. I've seen a lot of good fish along that first stretch. If you are planning on fishing Cambois beach at low water, don't go aiming for the horizon all of the time. Try a few short ones, as there are a lot of holes close in. Just keep varying your distance and you could have some joy. You can also get some very good flats close in too.
