me and my mate started off at blyth beach behind the farm, after a couple of casts we saw a boat putting nets out about 500 yards from the shore, aparantly hes been there for a few months now. we decided to move on. we went to a low water hole i know of on cambois beach (behind the buccanear pub). Fishing was very slow, i only managed a small turbot (a new species for me). After the tide had pushed us too far back we went to blyth pier to use up the bait. Very slow there aswell, only a whiting and a rockling to show. all in all a pretty slow day/night. bait used was rag. lug and mackeral.

Those lads netting really annoy me. I know they are only trying to make a living but it would be interesting just to see what they pull up. And us daft bu---ers paying a fortune for bait and fattening the crabs up.
No wonder we often blank.

At least yas had a few fish, at the end of the day a fish is mountains better than a blank.

i was on 1 of those boats yesterday pulling nets in. 5 miles of nets there was only about 20 fish 4 pollock 1 bass 10 codling 5 flaties oh and a coalie so as you can sea not much for them either
