Blyth beach tonight, Friday

Arrived at the middle toilets at 6pm, with low tide at 8pm. Got on to beach as the sea was still washing over the sand bar, so set up rod near high water mark and waded onto sand bank for first cast. There must have been around 20 rods in the area so just found a space, and cast in baited with lug. After only a couple of minutes got a pull and the grip lead pulled free, then another pull, so struck into a lively 2.1/2lber. waded Back to box and rebaited, cast out, and within 2-3mins, slack liner, caught up with it and struck, this time a little more weight and good head shaking all the way in and resulted in a codling about 3.3/4lb. I thought, it's gonna be a good night. Cast in again.......waited.......nowt, so rebaited, again nowt, fished till 8-45pm, still nowt more. Only saw one other fish come out, so decided to call it a night. Really enjoyed it, no wind, warm, and a bit crack with other anglers.:D:D:D couple of pics. thats me smiling, scarey:confused::confused:

Same as you but I starte about 200mtre south of the pipe, coundn't hold bottom so went on to blyth peir and ended up with 2 codling about 2lb each and a cracking whiting.

Well done mate, Some nice fish there. Where abouts is the middle toilets i've only ever fished blyth pier is it anywhere near the astley arms public house:question::question::question:

Anyway mate good on you,

Swally

Well done Arthur. That sand bank is a bit of a problem, especially when waiting for it to dry as the tide drops. You can see the breakers but when to start the wade to it?

As you drive from the pier towards the Astley arms, there is a toilet block and car park about 500 yards before you get to the Astley arms, park there and walk over the sand dunes. You will sea a pipe near the high water mark, fish left or right of the pipe over low water with lug being the best bait. Best results when you can get on the sand bank that appears towards low water.

When I was there on Friday Kevin, the tides were still "making", I left my bag on the rod rest and waded on carefully as there are some quite deep holes, that was about 2hrs before low tide. I was about 150 yds north of the pipe.
