Had a wander along to get some fresh air and a few casts, met up with fishing bairn on the end so fished there while we nattered.

Few casts in and I got a first for me on a spinner - a blinking Weaver :( Returned it unharmed. I know we've got a fair few new bods on here, if you're not familiar with these little monsters then check this page: Lesser Weever (take note of the "additional notes".

Met el sid on the wander back along - nice to meet you mate.

And over here too, although not very often. I remember my mum buying one from the fish stall in the market when I was a youngster. Don't remember how it tasted, mind, although it wasn't exactly on the menu every week, so it was obviously nothing to get too excited about.

Just had a couple of hours on Blyth pier, I fished with a spinner just past the bend and only managed 2 but there seemed to be a few more caught on the end.
