with a break in the weather decided to hit the pier when i got up seen the report about the pier and thought should i go with nothing getting caught other than 1 decent fish i tempted fate and threw me drop net in just incase and yes you guessed it the was no coddies bar 1 which i got 2nd cast which just made size soon as it got to top of the tide then ebb the whiting s came out to play i lost count and must of had 20plus fish all size the 2 biggest were 1lb8 ozs and 1lb6ozs and a nice flounder the whitings made up for the lack of codlings in near perfect conditions other than the tides being small

spot on that the whites are the next best thing when no codies about, yesterday there maybe nowt getting caught but its today and new tide and you never know what it may bring

yes mate it was during the day and a hour into darkness bluey and razor they seemed to like but other baits i put out caught aswell the codling was on the crab
