Me and my mate headed out 3am saturday morning, for which turned out to be an 18hr session. We started at blyth pier but after 4 hours and only 1 bite each we decided to move. Off to the private beach we went. Fished it for 3 hours but there was too much weed about, couldnt keep our line in the water for more than 5 minutes. sick of not catching with such a good sea on we moved to Cambois. This turned out to be a good decision (well for my mate at least). He ended up with 8 fish, 7 cod biggest 3lb smallest 2lb and a rockling. I ended up with 2 cod biggest 2.5lb. My day would have been better, but i lost a big double right at my feet. never felt anything like it, it nearly pulled my rod out of my hand and scrapped for about 10 minutes, it slipped the hook no more than 5 feet away from me, gutted! Best bait was razor tipped off with mussel, but had bites on everything else.
