blyth pier this afternoon 31st

fished the pier from 2 till half six. Loads of kids on the end but that didnt last long as nowt was gettin caught. Think i might of sickened them as i was straight into a mackeral first cast on the spinner. There wasnt much doin but there was a few fish. I ended up with one more mackeral, a plaice and countless launce all took on lures except the plaice which was taken on rag. There were two other lads fishing the end who also took 2 macky a piece on the spin. There didnt seem to be much caught further down the pier apart from one lad who had 1 macky at the dogleg as i was goin on. The water was perfect and it was a bit blowy at times but all in al a nice couple of hrs. Had a good laugh with the two lads fishing next to me aswell

about a pound gordon. Was pleased with that cos i dont seem ta get many of em from blyth

That is not a bad fish mate, again well done. Hopefully the catch rate for them will pick up around NE marks, it's been a bit patchy so far according to reports anyway.

aye pete even give one a spinner only cos it was my lasses nephew tho and they were behaving in a civil manner for a change

Yep, when I wrap up I always make a point of giving the youngin's what bait I aint used even if it means walking a bit to get to them, I just remember myself fishing as a kid with not much bait and sticking half a worm on the hook to try and make it last and inevitably not getting much most of the time.
Not much change there I suppose
