Blyth pier

Just a quick question for those that fish the pier. we are looking at going up saturday afternoon to do some fishing off the pier. Where is the easiest or best place to park at? We went past last night but the road round to the port says you cant park. Would really like to fish the pier as one of the lads wants to try his hand at mackerel fishing for the first time. As a plan b anyone know about tynemouth pier? to fish it do you need to be a member of a club or is it just in competitions its fishable? Thanks in advance.

Blyth pier - turn into port of Tyne road and there is a small gravel car park on your right next to the hole in the wall. The walk is around 5 minutes to the end if the pier.

Tynemouth pier - you can only fish this when the lads are fishing there club matches but you will have to be a member of said club. There only fished during the day. Other than that you can't fish it , unless you wait until it is closed and climb the fence. At your own risk of course. I'd stay off the pier in a northerly/ easterly as it takes a battering.

Good luck wherever you do venture.

cheers for that david we will go to blyth pier then. As for tynermouth pier i did think you had to be a member of a club and it was only fishable during comps.
