Booked my last weeks holiday this week with the intention of sorting the allotment out. Seen the forcast over the weekend and thought it might be worthwhile giving it a try. The sea was too big down Tynemouth area at high tide so decided to try Blyth Pier. Fished from 3pm til 5pm, although it was very windy , it was on my back and not too bad. It was also quiet, just me and another lad. I got right on the end. Second chuck a small eel, next chuck a codling about 2lb and then a big dogger crab. Plenty of bites after the tide turned but nothing else. The lad fishing next to me had 3 small ( 8" ) codling.
