well they look very similar to herring not really ur fault mate a lad caught 1 the other day down at the pier aswell, many mackerel about??

no but its my last time fishing there, too many on the drink does not mix with fishing when there treble hooks around and my nephew does not like drunks but thanks for the info on the shad

last time im down there its just depressing .

was down fri nite for a bit and all the younger lads were spot on then 3 blokes probs mid 40s were leavin they looked like respectable blokes, fishermen that u would think were sensible, came pastand then lobbed a load of rubbish straight in to the sea couldnt belive it boiled my p*ss, so its not always the 1ns ud expect

it,s called a twaits shad, i know cos i managed to hook one last year on float ,and they are a protected .

They were fishing next to me before I came off, I left once more and more people started coming down, was running out of room to cast.

Allis shad and Twaite shad. afaik both are protected in our waters.

next time im on the pier will be probs thursday 5pm going with a few lads so if any scum halve witz decide to boil my **** then god help them! fookin disrespectin asshools they are.. spoils fishing completely can't wait till thursday!!!

the problem with the fisherman & blyth pier is that everyone tars the fisherman with the same brush ! most of the people that fish blyth pier are ok ! mind you (you do get the odd one ), that act's the idiot , just like anywhere else, once the macky arrive you do get the local clowns that act the fool & fish in an action that is carefree of everyone else in the surrounding area, but 9 out 10 on there is on there for the same reason, to catch the macky, (if they were total wasters, then they would be in the house doing there best to get off there heads, not wasting there time fishing), I must admit the worst people to be fishing alongside are the so called mature fisherman, (off there heads on the cider ), asleep on the pier causing a hassle to even the young one's, througing there rubbish in the water, so next time you wish to have a go, have a good luck around yourselfs ! (ps, im originaly from blyth now living in ashington, never had any problems from any other angler (blyth or elsewhere, but beleave me im well handy to handle my own if any problems do arrive) Sean
