blyth river mouth

Spent a few hours on the staithes at Blyth this pm, from low tide until about 3hrs after.

Managed the smallest whiting I've ever seen - about 5" long.
Lots of little bites in the last half hour but nowt to show for it.

Was using rag. Started out fresh and wriggly but were nearly frozen by the timetime I buggered off home - me and the worms.

Very true. Not been fishing long - only been maybe 5 times, but managed to catch something every time so far. Nothing big enough to keep yet - I'm starting to get hungry!
