Just got back an hour ago from blyth pier, ive never seen so many mackeral caught from that pier in 15 years or so,i caught over 60 in an hour and a half and kept 20 good ones for the pot and friends.in fact i just popped 2 under the grill with a bit seasoning for my supper...lovely.but their were people coming of with black bags, buckets and just about anything else they could carry them in.its been like that all day must have been hundreds caught,,great fun though, but i wonder how many get wasted??
cheers

Lol mate, that will raise a few smiles, I forgot my bait elastic when we went to Scotland two years ago and got crucified for it. I will make sure I don't forget it next weekend or it will all start again lmao.

Its a cracking advert for fishermen and Blyth in general or Shields/Sunderland etc,i can just imagine what a non fishermen/women would be thinking if they took a leisurely stroll along one of our piers.

I say it every year but they will close it and especially if any damage is done by these idiots,it was reported in the local press about a load of young'uns fishing/messing about on Cambois Pier last week and the Lighthouse had alledgedly been broken into and damage caused........Watch this space :mad2:

i got meself 16 in half an hour, every one of them will end up as bait...for me :D i love mackerel ..... i have been sticking a bit of lemon garlic rosemary and some salt n pepper in big slashes in the flesh and then in the oven for awhile, 4 fish later im fit to burst :D

oh yea and i saw the lad gonna jump - anyone staring to see with no fishing gear just an empty bottle of russias finest vodka and you know its not good :P

yeah i seen him on his own with a bottle of cheep vodka about an hour before every and man and his dog came to sort him out!!!
I agree with you Alan if the mess continues and a bit of damage is caused they will shut the piers down with a big loss to genuine fisherman, Like various people have said i often come away with more rubish than i started out with picking up daylite packets and other litter..

Yes I have to add to this , the ammount of other peoples rubbish that I've removed from piers and other marks is unreal ,I know I'm not alone here , but if there was ever a reason to enforce a sea fishing licence then these muppets are in my oppinion a legitimate target that would make it worth paying .

i was recently at the Mull of galoway i fished the east side of the light house and if you know the place its quite remote,as i decended down the cliffs i was shocked by the amount of disposable bbq containers and other crap lying around, also a few dead dog fish left on the rocks,,this is a beautifull part of the country and people dont think twice about wrecking it..
