hi lads i was wondering if any 1 new where i can store a 16ft boat within a 10 mile radius of seaham i have looked allover but still no joy i even looked at steel containers but they were 1000 pound per year which was a bit 2 expensive for me i am looking 2 pay between 150 and 300 pound a year dry storage if possible any info would be appreciated thankx lads micky

Welly,
One of your best bets is hartlepool yacht club. It good secure storage and includes a launch permit(but with tidal limitations). Ask cod only his opinions.

I Think they quoted me 220 quid for the year.

Yer next best bet it local farmers...go door knocking to see if they have a spare barn space.

I did put mine on a local pensioners drive for a few months.

Obviously seaham are working on a marina which if it ever appears will be your best bet. Forget a container as many boats on trailer will simply not fit...trust me I have two containers and one boat ...it wont fit in either.

im in the same predicament as this guy,im relying on this marina in order to get my boat as i have no dry storage myself.
My back yard is fairly long,and wide,but would be tight getting a 16 ft boat in.

There is a place at peterlee that stores caravans and they will store boats aswell its on the north west ind est next to MKM builders. I think they wanted £250 a year when we asked last year as we were going to put our's there but found somewere else.

Hartlepool is a good bet. When I went to have a look i was impressed with the security and the clubhose facilities ( all included)

The lanch has tidal limitations...not sure what they are but I would reckon on 1 1/2 hours either side of low tide if the slip I have used on the other side of the bay is anything to go by.

My permit for sunderland expires on the 6th of this month and I am sure I will move to hartlepool.

You mentioned a container at 1000 quid a year...for that you could have it on a serviced berth at hartlepool marina or even royal quays for that matter ( but I dont think royal quays have a slip to pull it out if you fancy somewhere else)
