Boating lads predictions

For the weather this friday, me and some lads from BSA have a charter trip booked out of hartlepool and i wondered if the more experienced of yous could predict what the weather and swell etc will be like for then, is it a yay or a neigh:question: Cheers lads.

The met office charts show a high pressure system building through the week. If their prediction is right then we should expect settled weather by Friday with some sea movement but not much. Conditions should be warm, dry and bright. The usual caveats apply that high pressure systems are notoriously difficult to predict and looking several days ahead adds to the uncertainty.

I would say it will be a go with a lazy roll from the south.

If in doubt look out the window on the Thursday night, be better than anything we/they can come up with :)

This is one of the best tides to drift fish in June. The weather forecast looks good even at this early stage.

Heres the graph for Friday Inc the start and finish points of your charter. More or less slack water straight away so I would be geared up for bait fishing from the off.

Hope you have a good one Ed.

Yes i agree i will be 100% out Wed , wont be going far as have family on but will sneak in a hand full of wrecks :). It looks perfect to me for Wed :)

Well i really cant wait for Wed on the boat, i am sure the fishing will not be anything to write home about after the rough sea and the colour the water is (just been down and looked) but with small tides, little west wind and smooth sea i can see it being a pleasure to be at sea.

I may even try my hand at anchor close in for some flat fish since it's only family onboard but the lure of the close in wrecks will grip me until lunch time i think :)

Good luck to everyone out Wed and fingers crossed that the CoCo coloured water does not put the inshore codling and wrecks off the feed. Taken loads of mackerel, crab and squid just incase :)

Wed will be a real pleasure trip rather than just a fishing trip.

It will be ok Sat as nw in the morning then going straight east but very light, worst you will get is a slight sea i would say but will be smooth until lunch time.
Sunday looks about the same but would say slight and building as the day goes on, i will be at work then so it can do what it wants.

Good luck to who ever goes out, going on a scouting mission myself and leaving all my known marks for soem other day.

Looks like I'm land locked tomorow, so just ignore all the forcasts, if I'm not aloud out it'll be flat for sure.
Best of luck to all who make it out.

Had a run along the coast this afternoon Alan (tynemouth/whitley bay) as there was a bit SE blowing up, but luckily it didn't seem to affect the sea yet, looks as still as owt out there now so i`m fairly confident of the morning (Saturday).
One thing I did notice was the clarity of the water, obviously helped by the clear blue sky, but you could easily see rocky and sandy features well out from the shore a lot further than usual ..... brill, bring on the shads !

Nice1 Norman as it was like Tyne water close in mid week.

May see you out there, should be clear of the piers at 6.30am...making the most of it as work Sunday :(

See what you mean Richie, there are no 2 days alike. You'll be a clever man to plan anything around that methinks.

We fished on Monday and the drift was all over the place, every time. It didnt fish well all day until we were about to come back. We stopped on our last wreck and caught some lovely full bellied cod on shads up to about 8lb. The drift was E-W though on the ebb :o

I was hoping to get out on Sunday, but its not looking good! :s North-Easterly winds predicted on Met Office! Grrrr.. Saying that it seems to change every day so could turn out alright yet!

Since this is my first season on the boat, I was wondering is it always so hit & miss like this every year? I realise its still early-ish yet, but I always used to remember May & June as being nice and hot and well, dare I say, summer!! :o I would have thought the sea would be nice and flat, every weekend out, a few evening trips out during the week etc. etc. but so far its just a big fat no every time we try. Harrumph!

/rant over ;)
