Bold Endeavour 2nd July

A long day, registered 6am and saw mr lingking who didn't give anything away! and headed about 5 mile to first wreck.Met the lads on Wicked Jack there but not a lot doing.This was to be the theme for most of the day, suprising when you read the reports from the Tyne lads. Fish came in slowly but nothing special.Skipper Michael was using a flowing trace on a pulley rig and snapped the hook, tied a redgill on that worked, so I had to copy and put an afterburner redgill and don't you know a 12lb pollack.Artificials did better than bait.Came close in near the end of comp to troll but the water had gone really dirty from the big northerly swell, managed a few 3-4lb pollack but nowt decent. All 4 of us on the boat won a prize so it turned out a good day and a well run event (thanks Norma and team) and a good presentation at the Schooner.I ended up 2nd to Jeff on the Warlord (ling 14lb 8oz) but can't complain!

Cooler boxes are from Costco, we use a bucket of ice and one of water and it keeps them fresh all day no problem.

Wasn't winding up and down, just touched the bottom when the tip was in the water then lifted as high as I could (long rod).Mind the northerly swell helped lift it as well. Nice to see you and Micky in the prizes as well.See you out there soon - maybe not this week with the forecast.

That’s a cracking pollock Colin, well done; we travelled miles to a distant shore mark in Scotland looking for them and instead they were on our doorstep.
