Braid every day of the week, just dont wrap it around a bit of wood to snap it off or risk it snapping at the tip eye and losing laods.
Only bad braid i have ever used is spider line and would not wish that stuff on anyone, 2 trips and in the bin. I use fire line original and power pro depth hunter, loads of cheaper lines just as good thou.

I don't really have a problem breaking out of a fast hold as I mostly fish with 30th braid fishing mainly coastal waters.

I use spider wire on my fixed spool and I've had no problems, read about a few people thinking it's garbage.
I use spectra braid on the boat, 50lb. Been spot on the times I've been out. If you get a snag just get a glove and hold onto the braid and the drift will pull it out. It'll snap your daylites or whatever, well it does with me
