Well fished this weekend with a mission to get a decent sized Codling as I am sick of catching tommies.
Started on Friday afternoon at the Ratty, howling gale and rain in my face so I got soaked for a sized Whitey and a thick Flounder which put up a canny fight so it went back.
Saturday low tide I went to SSP and found not many people on so I fished the 44 mark for 2 hours and not a bite
so I went back to the Ratty and fished with an even stronger howling gale in my face and got another sized Whitey bit bigger this time and another Flounder.
Went down on Sunday for low tide expecting to fish the ramp or the Ratty again and found Roker Pier open with not many people on yet
Got set up between the second steps and the lighthouse fishing seaward and first cast into a nice Codling, just under 2lb, 43 cm. Mission accomplished so a happy man
Not many fish coming off Roker for the number of rods out but I did see another guy next to me pull out a nice Codling about the same as mine.
Bait for all 3 sessions was blow lug on 2 hook flappers.
