breathable waders

looking to get some for the summer to stop me sweating buckets in rubbers especially on long walks to marks.
can anyone recommend a decent pair that wont break the bank and any pros/cons on them too

I had lightweight for fly fishing and to be honest if u standing in water its cold-my knees knacked. I would go for the Vass studded. Reasonable price and good on wet rocks.

Then you need a pair of boots to go with them.
The light weights are ok if you don,t fish much,but they won,t last long if you climbing around rocks and such.The last pair i bought for Salmon fishing only lasted about 6 months before they leaked.
Plus,the North sea is just as cold in the summer when your standing in it for a few hours.
I have just bought these as i got a few years out of my last pair of Vision.

As for soles.I would go for Felt,with a few studs in.
Too many studs are lethal on smooth rock.

Sorry bushwhacker but felt soles are lethel..... but have you ever walked thru kelp or heavy weed in them ???? I got felt soles eith studs when I first got bisons never again lethel on a muddy cliff and just as bad on a kelpie scaur I fell twice first outing thet soon got swopped for vass wellies

When i,m fishing i am wading in fast flowing water up to my waist and walking on all kinds of terrain,from slimey smooth rock to muddy banks.
After doing this for 40 years for sometimes up to 10 hours a day,felt with studs are the best i,v used.And i,v tried them all..
The felt gives grip on smooth slimey rock and weed, the studs grip in the mud.
The type of studs also makes a difference.The "cheap" bolt headed type are useless on smooth rock.

Two different types of fishing mate they may offer you grip on rocks which I found they do myself but they are no good for walking along kelpie scaurs or going down ropes on cliff sides to get to certian marks every lad yhat I know who fishes the scaurs and rocks will tell you the same thing ...... felt soles are no good for shore fishing if your fishing on a smooth scaur with no barnicles or anything for the felt to bite to what is the felt going to bite to 2 ? Im not wanting to start a argument and I never set out yo offend anybody but I know from my own experience that felt soles are no good for rock fishing certian aspects yes fine but the safest ones allround are a good rubber tread and good quality studs

I have never had studs come out,but you could try some form of glue on the threads.

Honest m8 ya better off getting the stocking foots for 79.99 on there own then vass studded wellies just drill a few lil holes in them where the thicker bits are on the rubber I will take a photo of mine in morning to show you where to drill. There decent enuff on ankle support aswell just order 1 size bigger than you are normally

I've just bought some Vision Ikon breathables, I've only worn them a couple of times but they seem good. They'll get plenty of use this summer I hope.
I have some greys platinum studded boots to go with them.....so far so good.

I chose the visions as they come in a short size

the greys and sonik boots are great initially but after a few outings literally fall to bits. the coating on the boots wears away. Also you can begin to feel the studs coming through the sole. I had to put new liners in mine.

Apparently the latest thing the bass guys are using are canyoneering boots and adding in studs.

If only a manaufacturer produced a paid of decent salwater wading boots!

Also,some of the wading boots have cheap white metal lace loops which oxidise with salt water and fall apart.
