Is it advisable to either tig weld or braze a reel cage.
Just noticed my ultra mag 111 cage is detached from the reel seat on one side.
Looked on the internet and cannot get a spare cage, so its either repair or retire it.
Well TIG is normally for stainless steel? brazing for mild and carbon steel.
Is it stainless or just chrome-plated? It would be a nicer job if you could TIG it
Had a abu 7500 with the same issue due to it being dropped.I had it brazed on the underside of the reelseat.Fished whitburn with it for years,it never cracked or moved in any way.May not luck very pretty but it did the job.
