Well had another venture up there today.
My theory is, if I fish the same place and hone my skills there, I'll be able to fish anywhere. It works for me anyway.
Had a four hour session and got meself a boat so I could get around to the deeper marks.
The water was crystal clear, so thought if I can see them then they can see me and I'll scare the living daylights out of them, so fish the deeper water.
My theory worked and half an hour in got meself a nice rainbow to about 1.5lb.
I then missed countless fish so I moved away as I would have spooked any that were left.
Second cast on me new mark and bang, a cracking fish on.
Fought for about 10mins with this bad boy, it was all over the shop.
I gained line, it took it back and so on.
Had it close to the boat, thought got you now and then..................nothing.
It had managed to spit the hook. Shame of it is i never even got to see it, but hey it gave me 10mins when me heart was in me mouth.
It all went quiet again so I moved on, again second cast in and fish on. This time it was mine and landed a nice little blue for just over the 1lb.
Would have liked to chuck it back, but as I paid for two fish, I had to clonk it.
Half an hour before I left, got into another.
This one was quite far from the boat so the fight to get it in was tremendous.
Landed a nice raindow of about 1.5lb which i released to fight another day.
Was a fantastic feeling holding it in the water until it gained it's composer, then one kick of the tail and it swam out of my hand.
Anyway, no doubt I'll be back again next week, this time to get some bigger ones.
Caught two of them on an orange fritz and one on a black and green thing( think it was a zonker).
