Plan was to get up at the crack of dawn and be down at sunderland for around 4:30 am, but at the last minute a change of circumstance meant we had to scrub that and hope the weather stayed fine so we might have a possibility of getting out on the afternoon.
Weather did stay fine enough so at 4pm we headed out the piers at sunderland, plan was to try for a few mackerel so whilst im setting up my gear my mate pulls in 3 codlings all around 3lb mark in 3 very quick drops, i thought great this might be a good session, but after trying a few more marks we only ended up with a further 3 codling of around 2lb and 20 mackerel.
We only fished for 3 hours so it wasnt too bad i suppose, sea had a slight lump on, but was nothing to worry about.
That will be my last session for a little while as im going to lift out this week sometime and get spruced up as well as a service.
