I know there's a few guitarists on here...have just picked my electro-acoustic for the first time in aaaaages and me finger tips are knacking!

Is it possible I've gone soft with all this fishing?? there was a time when my finger tips were like Zola Buds feet!

...need to spend some quality time methinks to get the tips fighting fit again!

plus the shore fishing is crap at the mo so going through my song books will distract me for a while at least

Takes a good few weeks to build up the callouses Tony, a little surgical spirit will help toughen up the skin. Haven't played myself for about 5 years now so would probably wring my fingers raw if I could be bothered to dust off the old guitar.

You could always get a bottleneck and take up slide guitar - much easier on the fingers
