Cambois 20/10/07

3 of us fished around cambois last nite, started off on rocks then moved round to ramp, then the beach. I had 7 coalies and 1 flounder, my 2 mates had 11 coalies and a whiting. All fish were size but returned for another day. Best bait was rag, runnydown, squid cocktail.

the ramp is directly behind the Alcan silos,cross the railway line and park on the left,you'll see the ramp over the boulders

hi i hav just joined this site and just got bk in 2 fishing again after 2 years out could any on tell me were are the best places 2 fish on cambois and on wat tides

The ramp is best 1hr b4 2hrs after high tide. Dont fish there if its rough as the waves come over the top of it. As the tide goes down, we usually follow it along the rock edges casting northwards. North hole is at the end of the skeer infront of the ramp. This is worth a shot 2hrs b4 2hrs after low water, depending on the size of the tide u may have to wade a little. Middle hole is the bay directly in line with the start of cambois pier, anywhere along there is worth a shot and u dont need to distance cast.(take plenty of sinkers as some parts are very heavy) This is usually accesable 2hrs b4 2hrs after low water, but ive had 6hr sessions there before. Ive found all these marks fish best on a dying northerly or south easterly winds.

thanx bigroppa ill give it a shot on fri ngt do u need a big cast off the ramp?? i hav a nother question lol my mam defrosted the freezer an left my cab out and they defrosted if i freez them again will they be ok 2 fish with? thanx for the help m8
