Fished cambois today with jamcod, beautiful weather and a pretty productive morning i ended up with two size coalies which i tried to return and despite being cleanly hooked went belly up so i ended up keeping em. Anyway i had a tiny bite which ended up with me doing battle with a big fish that i just couldnt get up. It was the biggest fish i had ever had on and it snagged up solid twenty yards or so out. I gave it line but nowt happened, i then pulled hoping the weak link would give out but i lost the lot. im totally gutted. but i still beat jamcod again who only managed a small infact tiny coalie

I know how you feel mate, I lost a couple of good fish last year.
It's gutting but happens sometimes. Do you think it was a cod? Or a smoothound or something?

know what u mean sid m8 i lost a cracker 2 years ago of the south corner of crab law, it went under the ledge 10yrds from my feet & i could'nt get round on it as the tide was flooding hard. i even walked round the bay past whale rock & the big rock trying 2 pull it back over, this fish was pulling me down the rocks & i was on 35 mins trying every thing 2 get it on the move again but as u i got sick & just pulled & hoped 4 the best, i think it was a big conger 2 b honest because it just would,nt budge gutted i was.
still ended up with 2 fish & m8 had 4 fish, 2 landed as i was fighting the bigg'un lol.

aye the sickening thing is it was probs my own fault, i didnt bully it hard enough. i lost a big un at hauxley a few year ago when i pulled the hook in the surf, so i was being a bit careful. but at least im finding them so must take the positives lol. although jimmys taking pleasure in the fact i lost another
