myself and a few mates fished cambois rocks yesterday the sunshine was great,,,sea not bad a little lift but not a lot

threw in and held the rod then guess what bang bang two good thumps my heart in my mouth remembering what it felt like missed it missed another well not missed they hook themselves, after getting all my gear back i checked the hook and it was masked in squid, bloody hell sorted it and threw it back out after rebaiting and checking the hook
soon after thump another one but this time the hook did its job and burried itself in the cod,,, there were about 6 in all that i seen so the day went well

Sounds like a good day. Never fished there before. just done an aa road search and its not to far.
What were the sizes of the fish you caught.

cheers Mick.

i went back at tea time today few nocks but didnt nail any,,there was a comp on and i seen 1 landed looked like a small cod from where i was, with my eye site it could av been a descent one,,,met some one from here so he may give us the results from the cambois section

I new it was a comp on as i went on lighthoose seen 3 ppl fishin on camboi rocks! but before hand i seen 4cars leaving :D i shud of entered...:o and i guess u were fishin lol that sea picked up nicely.. good try anyway mate and well done on codlin before.. landed at cambois for 9.30.

Bluesbiker it was me you were talking too, nice to meet ya. The comp was for the south beach club, was 3 members at cambois, all caught a single fish but it was hard going just to get one. Cambois pier is out of bounds so no fish from there would have counted, and its too easy to catch from there.

aye nice to meet you young steve i lost 1 fast in the weed wroten bottom gone and hook length,,,,hence the advise on knots in another post,,
well until the next time tight lines

Unlucky that mate losing one. I only had one codling 1lb 4oz and a huge rockling which was no good to weigh in. As for piers im not having a go at you but when you have the right conditions/tide it aint hard work catching, i.e. no rocks/weed to get tha fish in and basically you dont have to keep chaging tactics. I like pier fishing when the time is right but only on piers you are allowed on.
