I just thought I would start this thread to give any other members the heads up when it comes to reinsuring their lpg converted cars. I have just been told by my insurance company that my Lpg Conversion Certificate is no longer valid when it comes to reinsuring my car. My vehicle has now to be registered on the UKLPG database and if it is NOT, they cannot cover the vehicle.
So at present I now have a lovely Landrover Discovery garden ornament sitting in my driveway.
So if you have an Lpg converted vehicle, you can check to see whether it is on the UKLPG Register via the link below.
LPG Autogas - the greener, cleaner and cheaper fuel alternative
If you have you Lpg Conversion Certificate and your vehicle is not on the database, you can send it off to UKLPG and have your vehicle added to the register FREE OF CHARGE.
If you do not have the Certificate, then you have to pay for an inspection to be carried out and any remedial work to be carried out to bring it up to the new standards. The cost of that can be anywhere from £100 upwards and all works must be carried out by UKLPG Registered Installers.
Don't be caught out like I just have been.
